My jobs, internships and projects

Here are presented the jobs and internships I did until now, as well as the main projects in which I am (was) involved.

Since April 1st 2020 : Science journalist at Futura (France)

June 2020 – September 2020 : Community manager at Futura (France)

October 1st 2013 – March 2019 : Ph.D. at the Observatoire de Genève (Versoix, Switzerland)

March 11th – September 8th 2013 : Internship (Project of end of studies) at the Observatoire de Genève (Versoix, Switzerland) : “Search for low-mass exoplanets through the radial velocity method: exploration of the limits of detection”

“The goal of the work is the development and the test of new tools of analysis of the signal applied to the research of exoplanets through the radial velocity technique. Especially, the work will consist in comparing different methods of estimation of the degree of confidence in the detection of low-amplitude signal. The impact of the sampling of the measurements and the characteristics of the noise of measurement will also be studied.”

May 21st – August 3rd 2012 : Internship at the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory (CTIO-NOAO) (La Serena, Chile) : “Gyrochronology, and the use of rotation periods to determine the age of the central stars of extrasolar planets.”

“For all extra-solar planets transiting their host stars, we will collect their rotation periods and/or spectroscopic rotation rates into a database, using the results to derive their age in a distance-independent way — the so-called gyrochronology method. We will correlate extra-solar planet properties with the ages of their host star in order to investigate if stellar evolution plays a role in the existence (and placement) of hot Jupiters.”

September 2011 – May 2012 : Research project with IMEP (Microelectronics, Electromagnetism and Photonics Institute in Grenoble) : “Simulation of photovoltaic cells based on nanowires” (Grenoble, France)

June 14th – July 31st 2011 : Operator internship within Amcor Flexibles SPS (Coulommiers, France) :

Working on a cutting machine for paper and plastic films for the manufacture of packaging for medical use.

September 2010 – May 2011 : Group project with Engineers Without Borders : “Sensibilization to volcanic risks” (Grenoble, France) :

Qualification, improvement and practical use of an electromecanical sismometer, in order to increase awareness and prevention for a possible eruption of the volcano Misti, in Peru. The goal of the scientific and educational project was to develop cultural activities in Grenoble that would eventually be done afterwards in Peru.
